About

The Life Sciences Testing Center (LSTC), located at Northeastern University’s Innovation Campus in Burlington, Massachusetts, advances public health through clinical testing, research, workforce training, and global partnerships. Established in 2020 to support Northeastern’s COVID-19 testing program, the LSTC has expanded its work to include infectious-disease testing, surveillance screening, environmental monitoring, and pandemic preparedness. By sharing expertise, equipment, and industry connections with the Biopharmaceutical Analysis Training Laboratory, the center brings together clinical validation, applied research, education, and implementation to strengthen bio-surveillance and protect communities.

Leadership and Team

The Life Sciences Testing Center is led by experts in biotechnology, molecular diagnostics, clinical laboratory operations, public health, and research administration. Together, the leadership and laboratory teams support the LSTC’s clinical services, research initiatives, workforce-development programs, and partnerships across academia, industry, government, and healthcare.

Our Leadership

Jared R. Auclair, PhD
Dr. Jared Auclair leads biotechnology and executive training initiatives at Northeastern University and directs the Biopharmaceutical Analysis Training Laboratory. His work brings together academic researchers, industry partners, and international regulators to advance biopharmaceutical analysis, regulatory science, workforce training, and global collaboration.

Gyorgy Abel, MD, PhD
Dr. Gyorgy Abel is an expert in clinical pathology, molecular diagnostics, immunology, and precision medicine. He serves as Medical Director of Molecular Diagnostics, Clinical Chemistry and Immunology, and Point-of-Care Testing at Lahey Hospital & Medical Center and is a part-time instructor in pathology at Harvard Medical School.
